Jim and Buzz Packard met Jim Morton, an architect, at a party in Tahoe City in the 1960’s. The Packard’s had a love for classic Tahoe architecture and secluded lakefront getaways. Coincidentally, Morton was working on developing Chinquapin and Tahoe Tavern, and was looking for two real estate agents to sell the new properties. After the Packard’s and Morton met, Packard Realty was founded in 1971.

In the late 1970’s, Jim and Buzz were joined by their son, Mitch Packard, who has continuously raised the standard in Lake Tahoe’s North Shore real estate for the last forty years. Having now expanded to managing the rentals and real estate sales at five lakefront developments, Packard Realty is in it’s third generation, with Mitch and his daughter, Haley Packard. We strive to raise the bar for vacation rentals and sales, while keeping the small business mind-set Packard Realty was founded on. Our expertise often leads us to ventures beyond these properties for rentals and sales – but regardless of location, we can handle whatever comes our way.

Each property has it’s own history and character, and we pride ourselves in preserving those stories and show casing the experience each property has to offer. For us, treating every owner and guest like they’re part of the Packard family, is the basis to finding the ideal Tahoe getaway. Mitch Packard broker

As the business owner and broker of Packard Realty, Mitch has been specializing in real estate across Lake Tahoe’s North Shore for over 40 years. He has a natural way of building trust with every client, to the point of being familial. Being a true Tahoe local, he knows Tahoe like the back of his hand, and can tell you the best place to ski, golf, hike, or dine.

When he’s not in the office, Mitch is always enjoying the outdoors. An avid skier, obsessive golfer, and Sierra Nevada hiker, Mitch sets a high standard, both personally and professionally, and is always willing to accept new challenges, big and small.

Haley Packard real estate agent

Haley grew up around the family business. With most of her childhood spent at Chinquapin, she knows every unit, trail, and quirk the property has to offer. After graduating from New York University and working in NYC for six years, Haley decided North Lake Tahoe is pretty unbeatable.

Haley currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Chinquapin Homeowner’s Association to continue to preserve and enhance the integrity of the Chinquapin property. She has been thrilled to work with and be a part of this community ever since.

Doe Renee Tolle    real estate agent  

Doe Renee has been working with Packard Realty for over twenty years. She has a meticulous way of taking care of each property as if it were her own, and has an eye for knowing what every seller and buyer is looking for. She has managed multiple different lakefront properties, and now operates the real estate sales and rental office at Packard Realty’s largest development, Tahoe Tavern Properties and Tavern Shores.

Kindra joined the Packard Realty family in 2004. She has managed every aspect of rentals and sales, and needless to say, she knows what she is doing. Erica has worked with Packard Realty for 8 years and has successfully worked her way up to Property Manager of Brockway Springs Rentals. Erica has managed every facet of Property Management and Rentals and brings a great work ethic and attitude to the team.
